That Time My Dry Cleaner Got His First 6-Figure Corporate Contract

Why not you?

Hi, Steve here!

Let me tell you a quick story about how my dry cleaner got his first corporate contract - and a 6-figure deal to boot!

He’s a really nice guy, and he was always slammed. Manny and his wife owned and ran this little dry cleaner in a killer location and did great work. But they were both always overworked and exhausted.

One day, I mentioned that he should really look into getting some corporate clients, that he could make more (a lot more!) and work less (a lot less!) if he did.

Manny’s ears perked up and asked for more info. I explained the process, how we would need to get him ready to take on bigger clients (a more professional website, some new equipment, a plan, etc.)

And I also explained that large corporations are always looking to hire small businesses like his (like yours!) because they could only do so much in-house.

Manny was intrigued enough, and tired enough, to give it a shot. He

  • Leased some new, bigger washers and dryers

  • Had his website professionally redone

  • Learned what he didn’t know about commercial dry cleaning

And altogether committed to the process. I coached him and guided him.

His first revelation was that there were a lot of options for new, bigger, better-paying, clients in his city: Hospitals, restaurant chains, security companies — essentially any company where people wore some sort of uniform.

We narrowed the list down, found the right contacts within those businesses, created a killer proposal, and pitched away.

Homerun!

Not one, but two corporations bit, given Manny’s years of experience in the industry, his professional presentation, and his lower prices v. the competition (he wanted business, now!)

Two six month trial contracts turned into two year-long, 6-figure contracts. Manny ended up needing to hire a couple of drivers and trucks to handle the new, bigger customers, and boy was he happy to!

Today he works less than half the time he used to, and makes a ton more.

This could be you!

Why not you?

Personally, I am on my way to Vilnius, Lithuania today to speak at a Startup Expo, because one of my long-time corporate partners referred me to the host. So yes, the world of corporate partners and contracts is interesting, gives great referrals, is fun, professional, and it pays you what you are really worth!
