Isn't it finally your turn?

Then let's build your One Person Empire

Isn't it your turn?

I mean that as a real question.

You've watched other people do it. Some of them - plenty of them - no smarter than you. Several with less experience. And a few, frankly, worse at the actual work.

So let me tell you what I think you should build. Not a side hustle. Not a freelance gig. Not another thing that turns into a job with worse hours.

(And yes, by the way, this is a long email, but this is a really important subject. Is this right for you? I really think so. And below is why.)

A One Person Empire.

I want to be precise about that phrase, because I chose it carefully.

Most people who start a business build themselves a job. They are the product. They are still trading time for money. They become the sales team, the VP of operations, and the shipping and receiving clerk.

Money comes in when they work and stops when they don't. Take three weeks off, revenue goes to zero.

An empire is different in two specific ways.

It has more than one profit center. Not one thing you sell. Three. So when one profit center has a slow quarter - and one always does - the other two keep humming.

And it's an asset, not an activity. It has value apart from your labor. Which means one day somebody can buy it.

Doesn’t that sound great?

That second one is where the wealth actually is.

I built my old site, TheSelfEmployed.com, from the start to have multiple profit centers - sponsorships, products, partnerships with Microsoft and Staples and Visa and Bank of America.

And then Mark Cuban and his site Zen Business bought it.

I didn't get wealthy from that business by working in it. I got wealthy because it made money without me doing everything and thereby became a thing somebody wanted to own.

You cannot sell a job. There is no buyer for your calendar.

Now here's what's genuinely new, and it's why I'm teaching this in 2026 and wasn't teaching it in 2016:

Building a small business with three profit centers used to require employees. Payroll, management, an office, the whole apparatus. It was out of reach for one person, full stop.

That is not true anymore. Between virtual assistants, AI, freelancers, and the tools that now exist, one person can run what used to take a staff of ten. That isn't a productivity tip. That's a structural change in what a single human being can build — and most people have not caught up to it yet.

You still can.

So here's how you build one: There are five parts.

1. The Foundation. Pick the one business that actually fits you. Something you will love, be passionate about, that takes into account your unfair advantage (whatever it is), and then make it legally real: Create a separate legal entity, open a bank account, set up the books, have contracts. I practiced law for a long time and this is the part I know cold. It's also the part nobody else teaches, and it's this sort of boring nuts-and-bolts stuff that makes the thing sellable later.

And don’t worry, it’s actually quick and (mostly!) painless. 😇

2. The Irresistible Offer. You need that one awesome thing that people want badly enough to buy before you've even finished building it. Priced with a real reason behind it, not a guess.

And you stop charging too little (which you probably either are, or are tempted to try!)

3. Customers. We will create a simple system that reliably tells you where your next one actually comes from. Leads come in from predictable social sharing and shoestring marketing - because that's the budget you've got.

It's the budget I started with too.

4. Your AI Staff. This is the other secret ingredient to creating a business that can launch an empire. We will use easy-to-understand AI tools to create a workforce that lets one person do the work of ten . . . and that helps run three profit centers instead of one.

This really is the part that makes it an empire instead of a job.

5. Show Me The Money! Finally, I am going to show you exactly how to fund it without a bank. And look kids, I wrote the book on this, literally: “Get Your Business Funded: Creative Ways to Get the Money You Need.” (McGraw Hill, 2018)

Grants, customer-funded launches, crowdfunding, microloans, and lenders who say yes when banks say no, there are tons of ways to fund the dream, including some lenders who never look at your credit at all.

Four weeks. Live, with me, every Thursday at 7 Eastern starting September 10.

My eyes on your business. My 35 years of experience sharing the bumps, bruises, and shortcuts. Feedback from the group. Templates and more.

Isn’t it time to stop the analysis paralysis and get on with it? In just 4 weeks, that exactly what we will do.

And here is what you actually have when we're done:

  1. A business that legally exists. Not an idea, a real business. Your business.

  2. An offer people want, at a price you can defend.

  3. Customers, and a repeatable way to get more.

  4. An AI staff doing its job.

  5. And a real way to fund all of it.

Now, what I also know is that two kinds of people are reading this.

If you haven't started yet: Then I will help you set it up as an empire from day one and you never have to spend years spinning on a business that quietly became a job. Or, worse, continuing to think about it, wishing you had started already.

I say it is time to start already (and look, I know, I have been there too.)

If you already have a business, you may be exactly who I most want in that room. A lot of you have built something real that's running you. You have some customers and proof. What you're missing is a second and third profit center, a lead-generation machine, and an automated staff.

I've never taught this Accelerator live before. There will only ever be one founding group, and you'll shape it.

The founding price is $397 through Tuesday night. Then it's $497, and it climbs from there until enrollment closes.

So, I’ll ask again, isn't it your turn?

Steve

P.S. Founding members get one more cool thing. Tuesday night I'm doing a live session on Part 5: Where the money actually is when you don't have any. Grants nobody applies for, getting paid before you build, and the lenders who don't run credit checks. It's also the last night at $397 and the last night to get into that early-enrollment room. $$$

P.P.S. — Scheduling note: enough of you asked for another day that I moved that session from Monday to Tuesday. Same room, one more day to get into it.

P.P.P.S: Time is running out to get the discount and the Live funding session. Enroll here.
