So it’s Saturday night of a three-day weekend.

Maria and I are doing our thing (trying to get our new DIRECTV system to work!) The kids are all grown and happy and gone, and so we live the cliche empty-nester life, obsessing over the world’s best Goldendoodle, Hazel!

I’m sitting here thinking about our SCORE Boomerpreneur webinar from a couple of weeks ago (1,000 people attended, thank you!) and the great response it got.

And honestly, I keep coming back to the same thought:

It’s increasingly apparent that experienced entrepreneurs and executives suddenly have a massive edge.

Not despite our age. Because of it.

Look, AI slop is everywhere. The internet is overrun with hustle culture, AI hacks, 23-year-olds renting Lambos, and people pretending they made a million dollars drop-shipping protein powder.

But experience? Judgment? Relationships? Pattern recognition? Reputation? Actually having done it?

Have you noticed, those things are becoming incredibly valuable again.

And frankly, this whole idea of reinvention, second acts, and do-overs is something I have been thinking about a lot lately.

I had an investment go south recently and it reminded me that reinvention isn’t theoretical. Even for me. It’s something I have done, and continue to do.

It wasn’t catastrophic, thankfully, but it wasn’t insignificant either. And so, like many of you, I am rethinking a few things too.

Given that, as I noodle about this next chapter, I’ve become more interested than ever in the idea of building something meaningful, profitable, solid, and energizing with people who still want to create, contribute, and grow.
